LUSI Sings Local Tune with Jazzy Labels

The Louisiana Food Company (LUSI) has revealed new labels for its packaged dry goods and coffee products. The labels are designed to improve visibility at retail.

LUSI created the new packaging with the cultural history of Louisiana in mind. The labels are meant to convey the spirit of jazz through the use of vibrant colors. David Loflin, the president of LUSI, noted the Bon Temps Louisiana Fry product in particular — the fry's name is a Cajun French phrase that means "the good times."

"We are absolutely convinced that the distinctive artwork that highlights our labels will draw shoppers' interest, that shoppers will try them and that the great flavors inside will make them buy again. In addition to the stunning label art, we include a story inspired by the history, the culture and the people of South Louisiana," added Loflin.

Using region-specific packaging on products is one strategy to effectively appeal to a certain audience. In this instance, LUSI's labels may help them reach their home state's audience.
