For people who love the cabbage condiment, Frank's Sauerkraut is offering the opportunity of a lifetime. Soon, these customers could be supermarket celebrities.
Frank's, based in Chicago, is searching for fresh faces to be featured on its new labels. Chicagoans are encouraged to submit a picture of themselves, their families or a group demonstrating how they "make life sweet" using Frank's Traditional and Sweet Sauerkraut, according to a company statement. Winners of the contest will be announced on a top morning radio show in the Windy City.
To fair well in the competition, Chicago customers should be prepared to show their creative sides.
"Those with the most active imaginations, who can surprise us with compelling photos that express the sweetness and usefulness of our product, will find themselves on our labels," Chris Smith, vice president of Frank's Sauerkraut, said in a statement.
According to the Mount Vernon Lisbon Community Development Group, the Sauerkraut Days festival held in Lisbon, Iowa, will be featured on Frank's Sweet Bavarian Kraut label thanks to city resident Megan Dietsch's winning photo of her and four colleagues dressed as cans of Frank's.
